The siblings who lived with their aunt, are said to have grown together and even shared a pee bucket which they took turns to empty in the morning, but little did their guardian know there was more to their closeness than met the eye.
Residents of KwaMashu Kasi, north of Durban, were shocked when the girl who is still in primary school, was discovered to be pregnant for her brother and were hell bent in lynching the teenager before they were prevailed upon by the police.
A close source told Daily Sun that the girl’s aunt recently noticed that she had constant morning sickness.
“She had suspicions that her niece was pregnant. When she confronted her, the girl told her that her brother had often had sex with her since the beginning of last year. The aunt took her to the clinic and it was confirmed that she was indeed pregnant.
The family discussed the matter and it was then reported to the police. According to the victim, the suspect had sex with her over five times.
She said he would sneak into her bed at night when she woke up to pee in the bucket they shared. It’s sad that the young girl’s life has been ruined,” said the source.
KZN police spokesman Major Thulani Zwane, confirmed that a case of rape was opened at KwaMashu Police Station for investigation.
