Rwanda President Kagame, not impressed by Africas World Cup

The President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, has said he was not impressed by the performance of African teams at the on-going 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.Kagame, an ardent fan of English Premiership side Arsenal, said during a conference in Kigalis Serena Hotel on Wednesday that most African teams at the World Cup "lacked teamwork". The President who has financially supported the Cecafa Club Championship (tournament which brings together League winners in the Cecafa region) with a boost of US$60,000 since 2002, that teamwork instead of individualism would have helped African teams perform better in Brazil.
He was reacting to comment from a Cameroonian participant who expressed regret for the Indomitable Lions' poor show at the worlds biggest football showpiece. The Pan-African Youth Conference attracted several participants from the African continent. Kagame said he has been watching some World Cup games during his free time. Some teams had good players individually but failed teamwork to get the best out of it, he said.
He also jokingly said when he retires from active politics he may consider going into professional coaching to offer vital lessons on how working together as a team is much more productive.
Apart from Nigeria and Algeria who managed to reach the last 16, all other African teams at the 2014 FIFA World Cup Cameroon, Ivory Coast and the Black Stars of Ghana bowed out at the Group stage.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria lost 2-0 to France, while The Desert Foxes who put up a spirited show against Germany fell 2-1.

Nigerian Troops arrest 3 female undercover operatives of Boko Haram

The Nigerian army have released a statement stating that they have arrested 3 women who worked as undercover operatives for Boko Haram. Find the statement below... In the aftermath of the failed suicide bombing attempt on a military facility by a female terrorist who blew herself up in Gombe recently, troops have arrested three suspected female terrorists who have been secretly recruiting ladies into the female wing of the terrorists group. The suspects, Hafsat Usman Bako, Zainab Idris and Aisha Abubakar were intercepted while travelling to Madagali from where they were to transit to the forest to reunite with their cohorts. Continue... Investigations revealed that the suspects, led by Hafsat Bako, have the mission to recruit members into the female wing as well as conduct espionage for the group. Hafsats link with the terrorists group had earlier been a subject of investigation in 2012, when security agents on a manhunt for one Usman Bako, her husband who was identified as a terrorist, stormed their residence in Jimeta. This resulted in the discovery of an AK 47 rifle and 2 loaded magazines. Though Usman Bako later died in an encounter with troops in Sokoto where he had relocated to continue his terrorist activities, Hafsat continued with the terror group specializing in surreptitious recruitment of members into their fold.
The arrested trio suspects were luring ladies especially widows and young girls by enticing them with male suitors who are mainly members of their terror group for marriage. Before their arrest, they were on a mission to take additional briefing from the leadership of the terror group. The trio has been operating together as members of the intelligence team of the group. Their arrest has yielded information still being verified by security agencies.Colonel ONYEMA NWACHUKWU for Director Defence Information

Ongoing Doctors Strike: 'Help, Were dying' Patients cry out!

Three days into the ongoing strike by public sector doctors, patients abandoned in hospitals nationwide, yesterday, cried out that they were dying slowly, and prayed for Gods intervention to settle the rift between the government and the striking doctors. While Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State appealed to the doctors to stop using strike as a means of fighting for their demands in the interest of innocent Nigerians, the doctors on their part accussed government of playing hide-and-seek with them. Meanwhile, the House of Representatives has mandated its Committee on Health to urgently engage the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, and Ministry of Health with a view to bringing the ongoing industrial action to an end.
Vanguard visited public hospitals in Lagos. From Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH; General Hospital, Gbagada; Federal Medical Centre, Ebute Metta, to Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, were lamentations as patients, who refused to relocate, have been abandoned to their fate. New patients were denied admission, while elderly ones who refused to leave were offered skeletal services by nurses and other health workers not affected by the strike. Seeking divine intervention Some of the patients were seen praying for Gods intervention. At the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos, patients stood in front of Accident and Emergency Unit, praying to God to touch the heart of both government and the striking doctors.
One said: Our God in heaven, listen to our cry and come to our aid. Arrest the heart of doctors and government to end the strike. We are dying slowly on daily basis. At other wards, some patients that spoke to Vanguard insisted that whether the strike continued or not, they had nowhere else to seek medical attention.
They claimed their medical needs were peculiar and could not easily be handled at private hospitals. One of them, who identified himself as Clement Odia, and had been on admission since January, said he was not in a hurry to relocate to any private hospital for financial reason. Am going nowhere He said: I came here since January because of my broken hand. You do not expect me to leave now because I am almost healed. If I have to go to private clinic, where is the money? Also, they may not be able to take care of my situation, so I am staying here. Another patient, who spoke on condition of anonymity, accused doctors of aggravating his pain.
He said: I know if government answers them, in another six months same doctors will ask for more allowances. No doctor has attended to me since yesterday.

A Must Read: Your Duties As Someone's Boyfriend Or Girlfriend

I noticed that most people shy away from their duties as someones Boyfriend and Girlfriend. By GF/BF I mean anybody you are in a committed relationship with (with or without sex). Of course for the married/engaged couples, it goes beyond duty; it becomes a responsibility.

For a guy, these are the things he would expect from a GF. 1. Help make his meals: Even if she doesnt know how to cook, she should ensure he always has food to eat. Either by making him cook and store or by getting a cook for me. Either way, his feeding should be her responsibility. Of course the guy does the funding!!
2. Help keep his house clean: Now I know this is hard for most ladies to understand but guys operate better in a clean environment. Even though hes a bachelor, his apartment should always reflect the presence of a woman in his life. If you cant clean, get help!!
3. Help with his Laundry: Okay, thats a no-go area for most girls but the truth is that, guys expect it. Its not right to sit back and watch you BF wash his clothes. A lady should ensure that her guy is at his best appearance always! If you cant wash, take them to the cleaner and pick them up! Of course he should foot the bill.
4. Help with his personal hygiene: Well some guys can be pigs you know. Its a girls responsibility to ensure her guy gets a timely haircut, manicure/pedicure, shave and other things that come with looking good.
5. Host his friends: Guys like to host their friends once in a while and as his GF, you should try your best to be there for him. Dont just write it off as a guys thing . . be there to serve the drinks, serve the snacks/meals, make the small talks, and know when to leave if they want to get down to the guys talk. Just being there makes him happy that you can blend into his life!!
6. Be with him: As a GF, as far as the r/ship involves sex, its your duty to satisfy your BF. Sometimes, its not even about the sex, its about knowing he can hold you in his arms all night long. A guy needs comfort from a girl, so as his girl, you should let him know you are there! Thats very important.

As a girl, these are the things I expect from my BF.
1. Handy-man: Okay the words a bit derogatory, but if I have a BF, he should be there to fix my things. Electrical faults, plumbing, household appliances and even my car. Even if I have to pay for it, he should be the one to take it to the electrician/mechanic and make sure it gets fixed! If I have to travel a far distance, he should be ready to drive me, if I have a flat tire, he should be ready to change it and get it fixed. Infact, if I need anything done, he should get it done. Thats why we really hare their numbers on speed dial :d
2. My escort: Well I cant go for that wedding/ Party alone! He has to come with me.
3. My protector: Okay, before you say another word to me, Ill have you know that I have a BF :d I actually let a guy go cos he let someone else toast me while I was with him. Before you talk to me, you think of what my BF will do to you!
4. Money: I know you guys dont want to hear this but its the fact! My BF (poorer or richer than I am) pays for my hair and my clothes. Now I dont expect him to take up totally financial responsibility of me, but if Im throwing my B/day party, he shd pay for it or at least pay for most of it. He should at least once in a very blue moon, take me and my ladies out! He should pay for some lil things that I need and he should contribute, no matter how small, in anything I do!!
5. Call me: Now this is a very tick one. If I have a BF, he should be the one calling more often. No matter how busy he is. He should call and check up on me while Im at work, he should call me when Im sick, he should call me when he wakes up in the morning and before he sleeps at night. . . cos Ill expect him to!
6. Be with me: Its not just the guys that want sex, we want it too. We also love the feeling of curling up in his arms all night long. We love company, we love knowing hes there!!
